Ancestors and snowstorms.

Feeling so at home in knee-deep snow I wonder if my ancestors came from the north or north-west.. :)
What did I learn this trip? Well, I learned that if you topple over in that deep snow with a heavy pack on your back there is only one way to get up again, that the sweetest tea is brewed by Vikings, that it is easy to fall asleep in the sauna on a cold day. I learned there is a really difficult way to make mittens, that having friends is cool but having them abroad is sometimes a heartache (.. well I knew that already actually..), that Finish snowstorm asks for two coats, three mittens and a felted blanket and that 4 girls can easily finish 2 500 ml cups of these and a pack of liquorice when they are determined and that working on the Burrow project in a snowcastle made by a man called Jirka makes you laugh. Amazing. I love the photo’s I made there.
City and Colour is today’s music.

Mysteriously wonderful! May we have a tour, please?
OOOh I think this is my favorite yet. How delicious.
Oh, Elis, these photos are fantastic. Had just finished reading your Global burrows blog post and absolutely love the candle-lit snow castle photos…the warm glow in cold castle. Beautiful!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Wat heb jij een bijzondere- en fijne mensen ontmoet. Om nooit te vergeten. Wat een burrow, een juweeltje. Roos
