Bags workshops
March 10th, 2011 § 7 Comments
Jone Rakoski, the organizer of the 2nd Creative felt Gahtering in Michigan in september asked me for photo’s to put online as examples for the classes I am going to give there. (logically..:)) We already chose two bags from the Fashionshow at the museum, because they are fun and have enough bits and bobs for students to chew on and I worked on new shapes and designs to make student life more complicated (and yeah also really tremendously fun and yep.. grandiose hard work.:)) and so far 4 of those are through to the finals..
We will be working on designs and shapes in all classes. Designs and shapes with roving and resists in the first and in the other classes we will be working on designs and shapes with a combination of wool and raw wool and stuff and the outcome will nicely depend on what kind of raw wool we will be able to find for the masterclasses.
.. building up an appetite?
:)
I hope to do some of these masterclasses in the Netherlands too and will let you know when I know more.
And guys remember what a remarkable old lady told one day; no one is too big or too small for some tlc..:)

Oh Elis….As if I weren’t excited enough to be attending CFG, now I can hardly stand to be myself, I’m so jazzed up;-) Ticking the days off until CFG. Heather and I were just talking this morning (at 6:00 a.m. no less…LOL) about raw wool. Get lots of rest…By September, we’ll really be in rare form…ha! ha!!!!
Big hugs,
Dawn
Remember Dawn, when you pass a field with sheep, first ask the farmer for the fleeces before; a. you start cutting bits of the sheep without permission..
b. drive on.

Squeallllll! Oh, Elis, this is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!
I especially love the wild long white locks one and the ‘swallow’s nest’ one. You will be happy to hear that I am diligently practicing with my raw wool.
I’ve spent the day making another rug with raw Jacobs Hoggett fleece and a few bits of color (red and ORANGE…of course!!) XXOOOXOOXOX–
:) dilligently particing sounds good. Looking forward to early morning coffee and some fleecetalk Heather.
Yes, Elis, Heather and I are so sorry that we slept in until 6:00 a.m. some mornings at CFG…Wasted half the day lolling in bed;-) This year, we will tippy toe down to your room, with coffee in hand of course, and get a good jump on the day. Does say 4:00 a.m. sound like a good meeting time to you?
Oh, and thanks for the proper sheep etiquette;-)))
Hugs,
Dawn
